L- Made pizza with dough from the store, turkey pepperoni, grille mushrooms, and mozarella cheese - used Ragu pizza sauce and sprinkled oregano on the top too. Served with fresh strawberries.

Took online class for how to make sour dough starter.  Made two bottles of that - and started making what he calls Fake Sourdough bread.

D- Black beans with celery - on top of broiled broccoli and rice.

Made three of these - only baked two of them.
One frozen for later!

Today is the 33rd anniversary of cousin's - we did not attend in PA, but I know most of the people in the photo!
This is what the fake sourdough looked like an hour after mixing it together.

I made too much starter, but since I had two jars decided to keep both of them.  One will be stored hidden away, the other will be by the coffee maker (more in the sunlight).

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Finished making the bread.
Gardening.
Took online drawing class.

L- Fresh Fake Sourdough Bread and White Borsht Soup with potato, hard boiled eggs, sausage
D- Bernie made grilled cheese sandwiches with the rest of the fake bread, served with egg drop soup.

Here is what it looked like in the morning!  I floured counter then put the dough on it - stretched to an oval, fold two times, turned the dough, made new oval and folded again.

Then I placed it into the pan to rise for 90 minutes.
While bread was rising I tended the garden.
The onions looked like they needed some dividing up - so I pulled them out.

and cut them where it seemed they should be cut! Then they were replanted.
Don't think I will do that again with these two grid boxes of onions.

Here is box A.  Notice how the large tomato (front left) is growing so much.  It is really happy there!

Another view Box A.  Sideways so you can see the nasturtiums to the right of the basil in this photo.

Box B.  The tomato in the back is not doing as well as the Box A one.  I noticed after taking the photo that were were weeds in the chives.  So went about checking for other weeds.

Without the chive weeds.

DH got labels so all the squares with plants are labeled now. I think this view shows the replanted onions.

After garden work, what it looked like after the rising.  Then in the oven!
DH and I then took an online drawing class.  Here are my attempts to follow directions.  (his drawing looks much better).

DS changed the temp on the bread and removed it from the oven while we were in class.

Fresh from the oven!

Sliced up!
I started with this for the soup...
Added potato, sausage and hard boiled egg.
